Why a 75-gallon setup is not one fixed weight
Freshwater
Most of the load is water, tank, stand and substrate. Equipment can still add meaningful weight.
Planted or reef
Deep substrate, hardscape, live rock and a sump change both total weight and maintenance access.
Turtle habitat
A lower fill level reduces water load, but basking structures, filters and access space can become the main planning questions.
Water-change planning
A 25% change is not an abstract percentage. The calculator reports gallons, water weight and an approximate count of 5-gallon containers. This helps plan hoses, buckets, drains and the temporary load of replacement water.
Maintenance clearance
Weight is only one fit issue. Canister-filter hoses, hang-on-back filters, cords, lids and plumbing require usable space behind or beside the tank. The clearance result is a simple planning check, not a guarantee that a specific filter will fit.

Sources and assumptions
- Aqueon lists 75 gallons among its standard glass rectangle aquarium sizes and instructs owners to use a stand able to bear the filled aquarium weight.
- The 48.5 × 18.5 inch footprint and 140 lb glass-tank preset are editable planning values; verify the actual model.
- The page estimates average footprint load only. It cannot approve a floor, stand, cabinet or double-tank system.
